good grief, I won fancy pants!
I was thrilled this morning to check into my one of favoutite blogs, "let's have a cocktail" and discovered I was the WINNER of some fancy pants and a fancy bra from Cosabella. I rarely win anything. I won a multi breed dog in elementary school that the owners were just trying to get rid of. I was thrilled to bits then too. My gallery won a few awards but they were just ploys to get my advertising. Still....thrilled! I think that's all I have ever won in my whole life. So, fancy pants and bra rate way up there in the big prizes. Thank you Jennymac. Not only do you make me laugh most mornings but now you give me underwear. You see what I did to a favourite bikini...watch for undies in about....two years maybe. Jennymac, I will be toasting you later. "Let's have a cocktail", is one of my favourite sayings!

ghost birch
When we moved into our home twenty years ago we had a row of beautiful birch trees in our back yard. The nasty birch leaf miner eventually killed them off. One by one we had to cut down their huge weathered trunks. We want to replace them with trees that are disease and pest resistant. We need fast growing, shade trees. Ideas?

a whiter shade of pale....
Procol Harum wrote the fabulous, classic song in 1967. It is a song that will always remind me of growing up in very exciting times. Change was happening. Flower power was the message. It's still the message .....only now life is a lot more complicated than 1967. The pale flower has become streaked and crackled and ridged yet the urge to grow and thrive is strong. Pushing upward and outward ....a whiter shade of pale...
