Vancouver is hosting the winter Olympics.....It will be spectacular........The new year is bright ......Our world is amazing!

I didn't buy Christmas cards. I didn't forget....I just couldn't go commercial. I decided to collage...(Carla's little boxes inspired me!) They are a bit ..well..maybe..over distressed...but it was fun playing all afternoon. People will probably think them odd..........oh well......what else is new.

I have a very creative family that is always inspirational! My sister in law, Carla, sent me pics of the little, collaged boxes she made as gifts. She filled them with yummy, spiced, nuts. To make those....dip raw, mixed nuts into a mixture of whipped, egg white, 1 tsp. cinnamon, 1 tsp. nutmeg, 1 tsp. sugar, a dash of salt....then bake until brown.

All that white in the landscape gives everything a blue tinge. Brrrrrrrrr.....tis beautiful though!

winter blues? Try a "Mexican Hold Up"

Like a thoroughly modern, Canadian, my thoughts drift to holidays at this time of year. It's escape time in the northern climes. Cold temperatures, lots of snow and ice, bad roads, frozen pipes, shovel, shovel, slip, fall. Sure, the skiing and snow shoeing are great. Sledding too, but the days are dark and dreary. We usually head to Mexico. The Costa Maya is our favourite destination. Paradise! Holidays inspired the series, "Two For One Margaritas." It's about fun!
